Topmed Medical Scheme is an open medical scheme which has been registered since 24 April 1972. The scheme is managed by a Board of Trustees comprising of 6 trustees elected by the members of the scheme, as well as a co-opted trustee elected by the Board.

The scheme currently has 11,200 members with a reserve ratio of ±50% positioning itself as a long term value for money scheme to choose.

Topmed’s product range has been developed together with consulting actuaries who specialise in healthcare, to create a flexible range of legislatively compliant, sustainable and cost-effective options designed to meet the needs of both employers and individuals in all spheres of employment.
